It seems the surprises will never end. Industry sources have reported that Nintendo is planning to launch Wii before the PS3. This would seem to fit with Nintendo, who loves to keep any secret till the most exciting outing is possible. If this is the reason the price and release date were kept hidden at E3 then Nintendo’s sense of building up anticipation is superb.

Nintendo is already on course for a great holiday season, a sooner release – especially weeks before the PS3 launch – can only help. Alongside the very successful DS and DS Lite, consumers this fall are putty in Nintendo’s hands.

As a consumer, I couldn’t be happier.
